Of course, back in the old days, kisses between world leaders were a lot hotter and heavier. Communist leaders always went for a proper smackeroo – as a symbol of joy, fraternity, and equality between fellow socialist nations. Erich Honecker and Leonid Brezhnev shared the most famous of these, which was immortalized on the Berlin Wall by Russian artist Dmitri Vrubel. (DPA)

 

 

Schokoküsse (chocolate kiss) were first introduced in industrial numbers in 1920, although the first mention of them in Germany dates back to 1829. Every year approximately one billion are sold. Sometimes they are consumed pressed between two halves of a bun, which is also referred to as a Matschbrötchen (“Mud Roll”, “Squished Bread Roll”)–mostly by children. – Wikipedia
